Some sources claim that George SPEARS [Sr.]'s parents are Michael Christopher SPEARS & Marie DE LA NOYE / DELANOE; however, we have not seen any primary evidence to prove this.


(1) George SPEARS [Sr.], b. about 1731 in Germany (place unknown), d. about 1803 in Rockingham Co., VA; m., about 1754, to Christeenah HARDIN / HARDWIN (b. unknown, d. unknown); they resided in Augusta Co., and then Rockingham Co., VA; their children:

        v. Mary Agnes, b. about 1766, d. 1802, m. Christopher RIFE; 
       vi. Hannah, b. 14 Mar 1769, d. 8 Jan 1835, m. Jonathan NEWMAN; 
      vii. John, b. 10 Apr 1771, d. 14 Jan 1866, Margaret CHRISMAN;

George SPEARS [Sr.] was a wagon driver in the VA Militia in 1781 during the Revolutionary War
