Catherine "Katie" SELLERS;George ZIMMERMAN / CARPENTER [Sr.] was a soldier in the 1st VA State Reg., in 1777-1778 during the Revolutionary War. He died while a soldier in active service. He was an elder in 1762 in the Peaked Mountain Church in Rockingham Co., VA. He may have been a physician; in some family records he is referred to as Dr. CARPENTER.
(2) John CARPENTER, b. about 1752 in Augusta Co., VA, d. 1785 in Lincoln Co., KY; m., about 1775 in Augusta Co., VA, to Elizabeth SPEARS (b. 5 Dec 1755, d. 26 Oct 1832; daughter of George SPEARS & Christeenah HARDIN); they resided in Rockingham Co., VA, then Carpenter's Station, Lincoln Co., KY; their children:
[#3] i. Margaret "Betsy", b. 7 Jul 1780, d. 1 Jul 1846, m. Dr. Lindsey POWELL; ii. George "Station", b. 8 Jul 1784, d. 13 Jan 1879, m. Jane "Jennie" LOGAN; iii. Mary "Polly", b. 13 Jun 17--, d. 1 Oct 1871, m. James PATTON.John CARPENTER was a Sgt. in the 12th VA Continental Army, in 1777 during the Revolutionary War. He was one of the founders in 1780 of Carpenter's Station, Lincoln Co., KY.
(3) Margaret CARPENTER, b. 7 Jul 1780 in Carpenter's Station, Lincoln Co., KY, d. 1 Jul 1846 in Casey Co., KY; m., 24 Feb 1798 in Lincoln Co., KY, to Dr. Lindsey POWELL (b. 14 Mar 1776, d. 3 Dec 1863).
