In some references to this family the surname is variously spelled DESBORROW, DESBOROUGH, DESBROUGH, DISBOROW, DISBORROW, DISBROW, DISBOROUGH, and DISBORROUGH.
(1) Henry DISBROW, b. unknown in unknown (possibly in MA or England), d. about 1699 in Mamoraneck, Westchester Co., NY; m. to Margaret ____ (possibly HADDON, b. unknown); they resided in Hempsted, Long Island, NY, and then in Mamoraneck, Westchester Co., NY; their children:
i. Henry Jr. b. about 1665, d. about 1730, m. Mary ____; [#2] ii. John, b. about 1670, m. Hannah ____; iii. Benjamin, b. about 1672, d. 10 Dec 1733, m. Mary GRIFFIN.
(2) John DISBROW b. about 1670 possibly in Mamoraneck, Westchester Co., NY, d. unknown possibly in NJ; m. to Hannah ____ (b. unknown); they resided in Mamoraneck, Westchester Co., NY, and later possibly in NJ; their children:
i. Henry, b. unknown, d. 10 Dec 1749, m. Katherine HENDRICKSON; [#3] ii. Joseph, b. about 1709, m. Sarah ____; iii. William, b. unknown, d. 1743; iv. Benjamin, b. unknown; v. Hannah, b. unknown, m. Thomas APPLEGATE.
(3) Joseph DISBOROUGH Sr., b. possibly about 1709 possibly in Mamoraneck, Westchester Co., NY, d. unknown possibly in Rockyhill, Somerset Co., NJ; m. to Sarah ____; they resided in Hopewell Twp, Hunterdon Co. [now Mercer Co.], NJ, and later in Rockyhill, Somerset Co., NJ; their children:
i. John, b. unknown; [#4] ii. Mary, b. unknown, d. about 1778, m. Samuel BEAKES; iii. Joseph Jr., b. unknown.Joseph was an "overseer of the highways" for Hopewell Township in 1746.
(4) Mary DISBOROUGH, b. unknown (possibly about 1753-56) in place unknown, d. about 1778 in Pennington, Hopewell Twp, Hunterdon Co., NJ; m., about 1775 in Hunterdon Co., NJ, to Maj. Samuel BEAKES (b. 1 Mar 1753, d. 1827).
