JACK MOUNT'S GENEALOGY

MY CLAYTON FAMILY ANCESTRAL LINE

If anyone has information regarding the ancestry of Matthew CLAYTON or any other information about him or his wife Sybilla, please contact me.

One source - source #4 listed below - suggests that Matthew CLAYTON's parents are Richard CLAYTON (b. about 1626, d. about 1677) and Margaret ____ of Swarthmoor, Lancashire, England.

(1) Matthew CLAYTON, b. about 1660 probably in England (place unknown), d. about Oct 1698 in Nottingham Twsp., Burlington Co., NJ; m., about 1694 in Middletown, Monmouth Co., NJ, to Sybilla BUCKWORTH (b. unknown); they resided in Nottingham Twsp., Burlington Co. [now Mercer Co.], NJ; their child:

[#2] i. Martha, b. about 1694, m. John ROGERS Jr.
[I have not seen primary proof that Matthew is the father of Martha; however, some circumstantial evidence suggests that he is.]

(2) Martha CLAYTON, b. about 1694 in Nottingham Twsp., Burlington Co., NJ, d. unknown probably in Windsor Twsp., Middlesex Co., NJ; m. to John ROGERS Jr. (b. 5 Mar 1687, d. 1776). [I have not seen primary proof that Martha married John; however, some circumstantial evidence suggests she may have.].
