PAT MOUNT'S GENEALOGY

MY HADDON FAMILY ANCESTRAL LINE

If anyone has information regarding the ancestry of David HADDON [Sr.] or any other new information about this direct HADDON family line, please contact us.

The name is also spelled HADDAN or HADDEN in some sources.

David HADDON [Sr.] is believed to have had brothers John and William.

(1) David HADDON [Sr.], b. about 1735-39 in place unknown, d. 1791 in Randolph Co., VA; m. to Rebecca BARR (b. unknown, d. 3 May 1825); they resided in Augusta Co., Harrison Co., & Randolph Co., VA [now WV]; their children:

[#2]    i. Col. John, b. 26 Apr 1760, d. 19 Jun 1819, m. Isabella ELLIOTT;
       ii. Mary, b. 15 May 1764, d. 17 Apr 1796, m. Edward JACKSON;
      iii. Rebecca "Becca", b. about 1766, m. John JACKSON [Jr.].
       iv. Margaret, b. about 1781, d. 1865, m. John Isaac WHITE;
        v. Elizabeth, b. 15 Jun 1787, d. 13 Jun 1844, m. John STALNAKER;
       vi. David [Jr.], b. unknown.

David HADDON [Sr.] constructed the Fort Haddon that stood on Becca's Creek, now in Randolph Co., WV.

Some secondary sources without documentation claim that David HADDON [Sr.] had a first wife before he married Rebecca BARR. We have not seen any primary evidence for that. However, the gap in birth dates of his children between 1766 and 1781 might suggest that he did.
