State St., Trenton, Mercer Co., NJ; their children:

John C. GRANT reported in the NJ 1850 U. S. Census that he was age 36 and was born in Scotland.
John C. GRANT reported in the NJ 1860 U. S. Census that he was age 46 and was born in Scotland.
John C. GRANT reported in the NJ 1870 U. S. Census that he was age 57 and was born in Ireland.

John C. GRANT owned a stone company and quarry in Trenton.

[now Mercer Co.], NJ, d. 6 Jan 1874 in Trenton, Mercer Co., NJ; burial: place unknown; m., 8 Jul 1858 in Trenton, NJ, to Sarah Elizabeth DODSON (b. about 1834, d. 25 Nov 1890, daughter of Nelson DODSON & Eliza BALDWIN); they resided in Trenton, Mercer Co., NJ; their children:

        i. Emma W., b. about 1860;
       ii. Ella Virginia "Jennie", b. about 1862;
      iii. infant, b. about Feb 1865, d. about 7 Feb 1865 (funeral 8 Feb 1865);
