Death Valley National Park Postal History

Here are postal cancellations from some post offices in Death Valley National Park in east-central California and west central Nevada. The cancellations are mostly on vintage tourist postcards supplemented with some postally used envelopes and philatelic covers. Currently there is one active post office within the park: "Death Valley Post Office" in Inyo County, California, established in 1908. Several other now discontinued post offices were located within the current boundaries of Death Valley National Park: Furnace (1907-1908), Keane Wonder (1912-1914), Leadfield (1926), Panamint City (1874/1895), Panamint Springs (1940-1946), Scotty's Castle (1947-1953), and Skidoo (1907-1917).
