The Working Man

Harry on his way to work down Mexico way!

"I was hired (1946) to assist the Plant Superintendent and to be Plant Engineer. I worked at Blackford for 12 years. I was the only engineer, therefore I gained more varied experience than I could have at a large company. Bob Grumieaux was my boss, he treated me like a son, teaching me many things about glassmaking that I used to good advantage later with Owens Illinois. My starting salary was $3,000 a year."
